Workshop Outline:
Let’s create Solution Focused schools where children can flourish and learn. Schools are full of incredible teachers, creative children and strong communities; all with the best interest of the child at heart. However, schools can also be places full of problems and difficulties.
Arnoud Huibers from the Netherlands is a Solution Focused psychologist that had the privilege to invite and work with Insoo Kim Berg to come work with him at schools in the Netherlands. Insoo, the founding member of the Solution Focused approach, worked with teachers and children and empowered them in the classroom to create collaboration and change. Come along and join Arnoud as he shares these incredible experiences and discusses the strategies to create a Solution Focused space.
This inspirational one-day workshop is an opportunity to explore the concept of Solution Focused thinking and look at how this practical application of strength-based psychology can change the way teachers and learners work and communicate in schools. Further, the workshop will explore ways to make a gentle shift from talking about problems to talking about strengths and change in order to create restorative problem-solving strategies that foster growth and well being in children and teachers alike.

- To create a mind shift from problem and rule orientated to strengths and change orientated
- How to build a collaborative relationship with the child
