Webinar Outline:
All couples who enter therapy have a successful past. No matter how tough things may have been, all couples experienced a courtship and honeymoon and marriage phase that contained magical moments which are exceptions to their current struggles.
However, couples come to therapy to tell you what is going wrong and what isn’t working. They want the therapist to hear how stuck they are and often they even want the therapist to take sides. Added to this, the current aftermath of a global pandemic with lockdown situations; financial strain; home schooling; family dynamics and trauma have put a huge strain on marriages.
Solution Focused couples therapy is a brilliant and effective way to stop the blame game and to turn the conversation toward a goal oriented and shared collaborative space. In this webinar I will interview world renowned Solution Focused couple’s therapist Elliott Connie (USA) on his insights and ideas about working with couples. Elliott will be sharing his knowledge with us about how to bring hope back into the relationship and how to keep the love alive.
Elliott will also be discussing how we can use language to interrupt negative patterns and help the couple co-construct hopeful futures. We will also be discussing the equal opportunity technique which helps keep the session fair and collaborative.
